Oversized pictorial boards, 10 1/2" x 13 3/4", black cloth spine, 123 pp., 8 color plates on coated paper, b&w illustrations throughout, illustrated endpapers, code '4004' on front board. A scarce title with wonderful illustrations by Anne Anderson and Maurieta Wellman. Large-format volume with large type. This copy in about Very Good Minus condition, perhaps G+, overall. See photo enlarged. Binding is quite sound, pages are free of writing (though there is a boy's name and address on the ffep), the 8 color plates are nice (though, on a margin of one there is a sizable moisture stain). The title page's upper right corner has this same light stain, as does the same area of the front board which is curled downward a bit as well. Age-toning of page edges throughout. Rubbing of edges, a few corner tips worn through (at the very tips), rubbing to surfaces, some smudges and bleeding from the black spine cloth. Otherwise good. Again, see photo enlarged. Fairy tale illustrations include Cinderella, Yellow Dwarf, Beauty and the Beast, Tom Thumb, The Ugly Duckling, Briar Rose or Sleeping Beauty, Bluebeard, Snow-White and Rose-Red, The White Snake, Snow Drop and the Seven Dwarfs, The Red Shoes, Little One-eye, Two-eyes, and Three-Eyes, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, The Frog Prince, The Goose Girl, Madam Holl, and Puss-in-Boots.
