Rubbing, edgewear, chipping, light soiling and light creases to the unclipped dustcover. A couple of small edge tears which have been repaired / reinforced with tape to the underside of the dustcover. Spine of dustcover very sunned, so sunned that it is now a pale green colour rather than the original maroon although the title is still very much legible. Sunning and discolouration to the edges of the boards and to the spine of the book. Light foxing to the pastedowns, endpapers and a few pages in the book. Top edge of pages was originally stained purple but has now completely faded. Page edges lightly soiled. Spine lightly cocked. Previous owners date inscription to the back endpaper in black ink, / March 19, 1950 / Kinokuniya / . Previous owners Japanese hanko stamp in red ink to the first page and to the back endpaper.
