Top of spine slightly worn, spine faded; otherwise, a very good copy. Dr. Banning (b. 1810) dedicated his text on 'mechanical pathology and therapeutics' (spine title) to Dr. John H. Griscom, known for his important role in organizing a public health program in N.Y.C. The woodcuts illustrate a number of orthopedic devices of Banning's design.
