English summary: The author of the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles is often regarded as a historian and theologian of salvation history. However, both labels raise more questions than they are able to answer. By analyzing the motif of recognition in Luke-Acts, the study attempts to achieve a more precise definition of the relation between theology and history. Initially, in order to go more deeply into the discussion, Bauspiess reconstructs the connection in historical-critical research on Luke-Acts between recognition and history on the one hand, and the corresponding conceptions of Lukan theology on the other.In the focal point of the study are exegetical analyses of key texts in Luke-Acts, which are relevant to the question of history and recognition. As a result, it is suggested that Luke does not develop theology as history, but assumes a clear distinction between reality that can be described historically and the recognition which is given by faith itself. Similarly, he develops a concept that renders comprehensible how the event of salvation which lies in the past is brought to bear on the present as well. Bauspiess traces this specifically Christian perspective on history and shows its consequences for the current discussion on the hermeneutics of history. This book is his doctoral thesis which was written at the University of Tubingen.
