Review:

""Undergraduates in classics or senior professors can only learn from these books. Buy them and put them on your desk. Soon you will be consulting them daily, and only to your benefit.""--William M. Calder III, William Abbott Oldfather Professor of Classics, Professor of Comparative Literature, University of Illinois at Urbana /Champaign

""A Dictionary of Greek & Roman Geography is the most original and most useful of all of Sir William Smith's famous dictionaries. I consult it constantly, because it provides in a very readable form a thorough geographical and historical account of all ancient sites known in classical literature"" -- Oswyn Murray, Fellow of Balliol College, Oxford Director, Bibliotheca Academica Translationum

""I heartily welcome this re-issue of a classic work of scholarship. And Stray's new introduction is invaluable.""--Professor Mike Edwards, Institute of Classical Studies, London
