Killers, Angels, Refugees - Softcover
It is essentially a collection of poetry written by the amazing Peter Hamil. His lyrical work with Van der Graaf Generator in the 70s was exemplery. Dark, touching, sad, moving. It would be a tragedy if such a work of art were lost. Do I think it is the best poetry ever written? No. In fact, I don't know, because a 15 year old's view of poetry is very different. But his song lyrics still move me, 30 years on. A final note: Hamil is a rare talent in that his song lyrics read well as poetry but, given the unusual structure of VDGG's music, that's not surprising.
