From Robert McDougall's extensive collection of rare postcard illustrations and memorabilia, with captions by Robert Gardiner, the history of this famous shipping company is presented. These reveal the great range of vessels and operations that the White Star organisation was involved in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The postcard medium was used for publicity purposes and official and unofficial cards are included, reflecting transatlantic travel in the age of steam. 253 photos/postcards in b/w and painted colours. 128 pages. Hardback
