About John Thompson
Have been selling books in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada since about 1988. My specialty is classics, literature, scholarly, unusual non-fiction and classic works of non-fiction. What makes my business a bit different is that I bring the stock to my clients, rather than having a store and hoping they will come to me. So I travel to both universities in Winnipeg, the University of Manitoba and the University of Winnipeg. Also do the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan. In the summer I do the Osborne Village Street festival for Canada Day and the Fringe Festival. Throughout the year I do a variety of other markets and shows and have traveled as far west as Calgary. Have been selling on line since 1999. My on line stock is a bit eclectic, but I tend to specialize in unusual non-fiction and academic items.
I also am a regular vendor at the Winnipeg Flea Market Co-Op on 100 Mandalay Drive in the north end of the city. There I deal in video games, movies, CDs, records, collectibles, and books. The books there are more casual reading, like current best sellers and westerns, as well as some bargain clearance items.
