Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm were German brothers famous for their collections of folk songs and folktales. Less well known to the general public outside Germany is the Brothers Grimms' work on a German dictionary, the Deutsches Wörterbuch. The Deutsches Wörterbuch was the first major step in creating a standardized "modern" German language. The Brothers Grimm are also well known for many beloved children's stories including Little Red Riding Hood, Rumpelstiltskin, Sleeping Beauty and many more.

With 40 colour and numerous black and white illustrations by Rackham bound in with text. Signed by Rackham. A bright clean copy although tie on lower board is almost detached still in very fine condition.
