Spider-Man

In 1962, comic book writer Stan Lee created the action hero Spider-Man for Marvel Comics. Spider-Man began starring in his own newspaper strip and soon became one of the most successful newspaper comics. Spider-Man has appeared in more than 500 newspapers worldwide, making it the longest running of all Super Hero strips. In 1967, the first Spider-Man series ran on TV and continued to be a favorite tv show until 1998.
