The best horror is Gothic horror. With Halloween coming up, AbeBooks.co.uk has teamed up with our friends at Penguin Red Classics to offer a very special competition prize to fans of the macabre.
We have a full set of the just-released Gothic Classics Series to give away to one lucky winner. The set features 10 first-class examples of Gothic horror writing with enough ills and kills to truly deliver chills and thrills. Bram Stoker, HP Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe and other masters of the genre are included in the set.
The 10 classics have eye-catching black and yellow covers that make them jump off the bookshelf. "The inspiration for the jackets covers came from Romek Maerber’s two-tone covers for the 1960s Penguin Crime...indistinct lines was ideal for ghostly tales, while the bold graphic elements and colour scheme were selected for maximum visual impact," explained Penguin designer Coralie Bickford-Smith.
