Alice Sebold has been praised for crafting a story of unspeakable tragedy and loss that manages to provide readers with a sense of caring, love and even happiness in her bestselling novel The Lovely Bones.

In this limited edition box set, a hardcover editon of The Lovely Bones appears with a special companion volume, Looking Glass - a book that integrates pictures of real missing children with the opening chapters of The Lovely Bones.

The images of the children are printed two times in silver on clear acetate to give the illusion of both glass and reflection. Sebold says her hope is that in looking at these pictures, readers will have a "sense of the loss suffered by their families and by all of us as a whole," making each of us more alert to being another set of eyes looking out for these children.

Sebold further demonstrates her commitment to missing children by donating all royalties from the sale of Looking Glass to National Centre for Missing & Exploited Children.
