1944, presumed first. (Mass market paperback) Very good. 42pp. Tall 8vo. In original plain wrappers, top cover printed in black; saddle-stapled. Wrappers lightly dust-dirtied from age and handling. Else bright and clean. Colour frontispiece of Dafoe as Chancellor of the University of Manitoba, 1934-1944. Monochrome photos. With contributions by Bruce Hutchinson, H. B. Guest, W. E. Ingersoll, J. H. Gray, Harold Moore, B. T. Richardson, Kennethe M. Haig, Chester A. Bloom, Grant Dexter, and G. V. Ferguson. A surprisingly scarce monograph. From the library of Ralph Pearson, SIGNED by him at the head of the top cover. Ralph Pearson served for more than 26 years under five ministers in the Manitoba Legislature. Most prominently, he was responsible for compiling much of the financial data contained in Manitoba's briefs to the Rowell-Sirois Commission on federal-provincial relations, reported in 1940. Pearson's career came to a tragic end when he died in his office by suicide in February, 1947.
