This book tells how the alluvial workings of Stringer's Creek in the remote mountains of Gippsland, Victoria, grew into the busy mining town of Walhalla in the late nineteenth century. Gold towns have become ghost towns in many corners of Australia, but none of them has the romantic attraction of Walhalla. The Author's vivid picture makes it live again.
