Interesting for its historical information, with quite useful (British) recipes. McKendry was a well-known writer as a food critic for Vogue, and also, as Maxime de la Falaise, a clothing designer. Edited by Arabella Boxer. Illustrated with b/w drawings. Appendix and Index. Red cloth with gilt lettering on spine. Covers show some edge wear, light wear at top & tail of spine. Dust Jacket shows discoloration and foxing at top, edge wear, bumping, wear at top & tail of spine, price sticker on front inner flap, sunning to flaps. Previous owner's notations below inscription on free front endpaper; discoloration to two pages where news clippings (on McKendry) were laid in. Clippings (1974) are included.
