Condition: Gut. um 1930. Karte nicht gelaufen, nicht beschrieben, gut. Evelyn Holt (* 3. Oktober 1908 in Berlin; gest? 22. Februar 2001 in Los Angeles; gebürtig Evelyn Sklarz) war eine deutsche Schauspielerin. Die Tochter eines Journalisten begann ihre Filmkarriere im Alter von nicht ganz 20 Jahren bei der UFA. Das äußerst attraktive junge Mädchen avancierte schnell zu Hauptrollen neben Gustav Fröhlich und Hans Albers. Nach Gesangsunterricht wurde sie 1931 als Soubrette an das Große Schauspielhaus in Berlin verpflichtet. Die Machtergreifung Hitlers 1933 beendete jedoch ihre Filmkarriere nach nur sechs erfolgreichen Jahren, da ihr eigentlicher Name Evelyn Sklarz jüdisch erschien. Da sie nach einer Gesangsausbildung in der Jugend als Soubrette arbeiten konnte, hielt sie sich mit Engagements an der Komischen Oper in Berlin über Wasser. Als sie 1936 den jüdischen Verleger Felix Guggenheim heiratete, war ihr auch das nicht mehr möglich. 1938 emigrierte das Paar zunächst in die Schweiz, um 1940 nach England überzusiedeln, später in die USA. Dort wurde Felix Guggenheim Exilverleger von Autoren wie Thomas Mann, Franz Werfel, Lion Feuchtwanger und Alfred Döblin. Evelyn Holt blieb bis an ihr Lebensende in den USA, drehte jedoch nie wieder einen Film.
