Deals specifically with the invasion of the Japanese-held Marshall Islands of the central Pacific: Kwajalein, Majuro, and Eniwetok Atolls. The successful occupation of these islands opened the way for the invasion of Marianas: Saipan, Tinian, and Guam. Major units were the 4th Marine Division, 22nd Marine Regt, and the U.S. Army"s 7th Infanry Division and attached 106th Infantry Regt.
