Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor. 1st Edition. Here is "Australian Landscapes in Miniature". The book has 45 reproductions in color of paintings by various artists, accompanied by a text by Roy H. Goddard. The book was published in 1952 in hardcover format by The Legend Press of Sydney Australia. The dust-jacket is quite rough in condition, being split into two sections, both rather ragged about the edges, and with the spine panel practically non-existent. The book's cover and interior, on the other hand, are nicely preserved, with the reproductions presenting in bright colors. ************************************************** The artists, whose individual styles vary considerably, are as follows : Sir Arthur Streeter, John Rowell, Gordon Esling, S. Woodward-Smith, Elioth Gruner, Lance Solomon, Robert Johnson, John Salvana, Max Ragless, Frank McNamara, Kenneth Macqueen, Alfred H. Cook, Hans Heysen, Rex Batterbee, Erik Langker, Albert Namatijira , Otto Pereroultja , Cordulia Ebatarinja (The last three all of the Arunta Tribe). All of the paintings seem to be held in private collections. It's a lovely book, and the presentation as a whole presents a vivid array, showing off the natural beauty and amazing variety of the Australian landscape. ************************************************** TITLE : Australian Landscapes in Miniature / AUTHOR : Roy H.
