Illustrated dust jacket; bound in blue buckram with white lettering to spine. Jacket shows an inch closed tear at top front, with light rubbing along edges and a few scratches and scuffs to surface. Boards are sturdy and square. Front hinge a touch sprung from laid-in abstracts, but binding is sound. Ownership stamp of archaeologist and National Park Service admin and advocate Lawrence E. Aten on front pastedown and top edge of textblock (and on cover of Abstracts), with numerous Post-it bookmarks with Aten's notes or arrows. Book interior is itself unmarked. Abstracts included for the First International Conference on Bone Modification, held in Carson City, NE in August of 1984, laid in at front.
