Contemporary polished half calf and marbled paper-covered boards, untrimmed edges. Engraved armorial bookplate of Walter Kerr Hamilton, Bishop of Salisbury (1854), on the front pastedowns. Extensive neat manuscript marginal notes in written in English (in ink and pencil), and scattered underling (also in ink and pencil) in volume one only. Some scuffing to the spines and edges, very good. A handsome partial set of individual volumes, with detailed manuscript annotations in volume one, from the library of Walter Hamilton, Anglican Bishop of Salisbury.
