The cover design for J.K. Rowling’s forthcoming adult book, The Casual Vacancy, has been released, according to the now standard marketing ‘drip drip’ tactics used to release any new Rowling book.  It might just be me but it looks like the work experience student did this one.

The release date is September 27 and it’s going to be 512 pages of fiction about English small town life. I wonder what Americans are going to think of the politics surrounding parish elections.

It’s going to be fascinating to see the reaction to this book. Will the buyers be the grown-up generation of Harry Potter readers or will Rowling acquire a new set of fans?
