It concerns his clarification of Hannover's description of the funiculus scleroticae (1876). A fine copy. "Danish born, Hannover (1814-94) received his medical education at Paris and in Berlin. He was a prolific author of works on microscopic technique (see this catalog under 'Microscopy') and on the anatomy and physiology of the eye. The present work is a collection of previously published articles originally offered in book form in a Danish edition of 1850. In 1856 and again in 1878 Hannover received the Monthyon Prize of the Institut de France for his investigations into the anatomy and pathology of the eye." (Becker Coll. Ophthal. 177). Hannover is credited with introducing the term'epithelioma' around 1843. Seller Inventory # 000491
