Title: Tirez à la Ligne, Céline
Publisher: Chance Press
Publication Date: 2010
Book Condition: Near Fine
Edition: First Edition.
Sixteenmo. 1 of just 3 copies printed by the Chance Press. SIGNED by both Stephen Hines and Jordan Hurder on the limitation page and presented to Bill Whitaker, a friend of the press. Based on a "Larding" technique ("Le tireur à la ligne" in French) where a writer starts with 2 sentences and then inserts another in between, and then 2 in between the 3, etc., never allowing the short narrative to devolve into nonsense. This little pamphlet has 10 pages of text, 2 pages of explanation, and 2 pages for the limitation statement and signatures. Bound accordion like in green paper covers with cotlin cloth covered boards, and secured with a paper and clear plastic wrap-a-round band. The volume has light rubbing to the cover title, else fine. Store Description: Trilby & Co. Books is located in Northern California. The company was founded years ago by a Shetland Sheepdog named Trilby. Trilby's message to her family was brief and direct - the sale of books would increase disposable income and improve the quality of provisions in her food dish. My name is McTavish (picture at left). I am the current CEO of this company, and I approve of her message. Oh, by the way, my speciality is literature, with an emphasis on first editions and signed books.
