Book Condition: Good

Good condition 1st Edition/1st Printing hardcover. Dust jacket missing. Extremely scarce novel, particularly interesting because the story is narrated in the southern Negro dialect of the day. It tells the story of a black mammy from her birth in Africa to her days as a slave on a big Southern plantation. This copy is square, solid, and tight. Spine is not cracked. Name of previous owner handwritten at the top of the first endpage. The upper right corner of the same endpage has been torn off. Otherwise, clean and unmarked inside. The exterior covers are lightly soiled and spotted here and there. Spine is a little darkened from exposure to sunlight. None of the corners are bumped but there is a fair amount of rub wear to top and bottom edges of the covers, tips of corners. We will pack it in bubble-wrap to protect the corners and ship it in a sturdy box to ensure safe delivery. Photographs are forthcoming. Bookseller Inventory # ABH290
