Hardcover, no dustjacket, measures 6.75 by 4.5 inches, no copyright date (c1830), original red cloth binding with still bright gold title and decoration, top edge gilt, 197 pages, features 31 hand-colored plates with the original tissue guards and a black & white frontis portrait of Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, text includes a memoir of Raffles, this is a clean copy, there is some very mild foxing on the first few pages, all of the text is clean and the illustrations are bright and in excellent condition, the binding is slightly weakened in a few areas but all is tight and secure, the edges of the spine have mild wear, the tip of the bottom rear corner is worn, quite a presentable copy overall.
