The author identifies the locations in Canada where a number of his poems were written - e.g., Winnipeg, Gimli (Manitoba); Morden, Manitoba - e.g., on p. 37 is a poem by the author priaising the Morden, Manitoba, district; and on p. 47 is the author's poem the title of which is "At Lake Winnipeg"; on pp. 50-51 is poem commemorating the birthday of B. L. Baldwinson, a Winnipeg Icelandic Canadian; on p. 53 is a poem "greeting" Stefan Bjornsson, on his departure to Icelandon p. 60 is poem dealing with Canadian conscription; on p. 60 is a poem about fishing at Icelandic River, Manitoba - in short, much Canadian content. AUTHOR BIO : The author immigrated from Iceland to Winnipeg in 1886 and made his mark as a poet. He is anthologized in Walter Kirkonnell's Canadian Overtones and professor Richard Beck devotes two pages of critique of his poems in History of Icelandic Poets, 1950.
