Bottom inch of spine has one-inch split, general edgewear, else fine; interior clean and tight. FFEP is inscribed by illustrator "Para Anita y Saul, con el recuardo carinoso del autor," (For Anita and Saul with the affectionate regard of the author") and dated 1-8-68. This is a rare first edition of "1 Poema de J. N. Bialik" that includes 15 engravings by Bernardo Federman. This book of translated poems by the Russian Jewish poet Jaim Najman Bialik is in Spanish. It contains two essays on Bialik (1873-1934) by Rafael Cansinos-Assens (1882-1964), a Spanish poet, literary critic and translator. 79 pages. This copy is from the estate of Saul Litvinoff (1925-2010), a native of Argentina, longtime professor of law at Louisiana State University, and widely read man who is said to have spoken eight languages.
