Synopsis: Private investigator Robert has spent his life doing criminal cases. He usually refuses domestic cases, but this one is different. It involves a death, probably a murder, of a young female. In the course of the investigation Robert follows the life of Goldie, who wanted to see the world; a girl who thought a small town and her farm home was not the “real world.” So at 18 she leaves home. She takes a bus from Minnesota to California, from a small town to the fast-paced world of Los Angeles. Goldie’s new world was all she thought she was looking for. Too soon, however, she is a mother of twins, too soon she is working, and too soon she is married to a man who wants her dead. The story is about murder, bigamy, fear, and drugs. It is about justice, which sometimes doesn’t come.

From the Author: The novel is based on a case done by the author. It is fiction but frequently fiction reflects life. Murder is much more common than most people think. Sometimes there is no justice. I revisited the site where the crime happened. It had not changed. The streets and the people were the same, but one was gone, gone forever. No one there knew or even cared.
