Title: Danger; or, Wounded in the House of a Friend
Publisher: John W. Lovell Company, New York
Publication Date: 1875
Book Condition: Good
Red cloth w/yellow and black lettering and lovely illustration of a man leaning on a fence and gazing toward a castle on a hill. Mild general wear, spine rubbed and faded, corners bumped. Paper splitting at gutter inside both covers. Text has some spotting throughout, light dampstain on lower edge which tips margin and travels almost all the way through the introduction: first eight pages of text. A frontis illustration of doomed drinkers, an elegantly dressed woman apparently forcing a drink on a terrified man. An interesting (and amusing, although not meant to be) look at the evils of drink.
