Green cloth boards with gilt lettering to the spine and a gilt design on the upper board, plain endpapers, top edge gilt, with the other page edges rough-cut, xvi + 332 pp of text, appendixes and index + 2 folding maps + 46 inserted glossy pp of 74 of Partridge's photographs. The covers are lightly rubbed at the spine ends. There is a binding crack between the first map and the title-page, but the hinges are undamaged and the book remains tightly bound. The endpapers and some early and late leaves are foxed. The contents, including the maps, are complete and undiscoloured. There are two pencilled owners' names on the front free endpaper and there is a bookseller's rubber stamp and "5/6" on the title page. The front paste down has "1/6" written in red. The book is otherwise unmarked. Bookseller Inventory # 000276
