Originally published in 1943 (and a 1944 Caldecott Honor winner), this is the first printing of the 1950 edition, which is larger in format, but with the same illustrations. (Librarians did not like the original, smaller size.) Illustrated paper-covered boards, sewn binding, illustrated endpapers. Some rubbing to caps and corners of the boards, else FINE. Interior pages are As New. Very crisp and clean, no previous owner name or marks of any kind.
