As the dust settles after Barcelona's multi-million euro extravaganza, the Universal Forum of Cultures, the city deliberates on what to do with its expensive and controversial legacy: portside leisure areas, new exhibition spaces and thousands of hotel beds. This is all good news for the tourist, of course, who benefits from more choice than ever, not only in a vastly improved accommodation sector, but in a revived arts and cultural agenda. The restaurant scene, too, has been given a boost after the city's Year of Gastronomy and thanks to the overwhelming success of Ferran Adrią's restaurant El Bulli.
