Jim Haskins is the author of over one hundred books and has an unrivaled background in writing African-American nonfiction for young readers. Among his many awards is the "Coretta Scott King Medal", which he received in 1977 for The Story of Stevie Wonder. Since then, he has won six Honor citations.
