This hilarious picture book by Peter Harris and Doffy Weir may well be classified as a children's book, but rest assured that all those adult cat lovers out there will get a real buzz from this sparky little book.

We meet Bottomley the cat as he is left at the cattery while they go off on their holidays: needless to say he isn't terribly happy about it but is determined not to pine for them and sets about having a fine old time. He makes very little fuss (as long as he gets just a little special treatment--after all, is it really so bad to expect to live in the house with the humans and eat meals with them rather than with the other cats?) and makes lots of new friends (well, the fireman who have to come back several times to save him from the outcome of his various adventures seem like friends to him...why else would they keep coming back?) and when his family returns from holiday, everyone seems sorry to see him go (tears of relief are almost the same as tears of sadness, aren't they?)

Wickedly funny from beginning to end, Bottomley Cattery is an absolute must for cat worshippers of all ages, and is ideal for adults and children to enjoy together over and over again. (Ages 4 and over)--Susan Harrison
