Of all modern poets writing today, Brian Patten is perhaps the most accessible and popular. Now his famous collection of love poems, spanning a period of sixteen years, is published in Paladin for the first time.
D. M. Thomas has described Patten's love poetry as 'truthful and tender... The poems write in a very assured way about being diffident and vulnerable', while Charles Causley acclaims him for revealing 'a sensibility profoundly aware of the ever-present possibility of the magical and the miraculous. These are all undiluted poems, beautifully calculated, informed – even in their darkest moments – with courage and hope.'
"He thinks and feels ferociously".
