Josie Smith is the irrespressible little girl who’s been on Granada TV in several series.
She’s the one who’s jealous of her best friend Eileen (who always gets whatever she wants). She’s also the one who gets into trouble all the time, but generally seems to come up smelling of roses! In this book Josie Smith goes to a frightening house, starts ballet classes and has her tonsils out.

Josie Smith is being brave!
Josie is quite happy going to hospital to have her tonsils out, but she has to be very brave at 'playing' hospitals in the big, creepy house. And at her first ballet lesson she has to try hard not to cry, even when her chest is going bam bam bam.
'Josie Smith is a child of character and resource with sparkiness and just about the right amount of cheek.'
