9" x 6". 475pp. Black buckram hardback with gilt spine lettering, in dust wrapper. Near fine condition; the jacket is lightly edge worn and soiled. 19th annual edition. One of only 50 copies of the "Contributor's edition." This copy signed and warmly inscribed by the editor on the limitation page to John Carson. Carson's artcle in this volume is entitled The Captain Who Wouldn't Stay Buried. It is about Emmett Crawford, a U.S. military officers who died while pursuing Apache renegades and was eventually exhumed twice. The book includes many other chapters on western history, Native Americans / Indians, Custer, outlaws and gunfighters, etc. With many black & white photo illustrations. Seller Inventory # 10567
